Arthur was released by Partick Thistle in May 2007
Accrington Stanley goalkeeper Kenny Arthur will join Rochdale on a free transfer on 1 July.
The 30-year-old, who joined Stanley in May 2007 from Partick Thistle in his native Scotland, made 71 appearances for the League Two club.
He was selected for the Scotland squad twice in the 2003/04 season.
Meanwhile, right-back Scott Wiseman has returned to Spotland after originally being released by Dale at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old was offered a new deal which will begin on 1 July, after fellow defender Simon Ramsden agreed to join another, as yet, unnamed club.
"I believe Simon has taken up an option to sign for another club and that will be fully disclosed to the public at a later stage," manager Keith Hill told the club's website.
"He has been offered a deal that goes way beyond our financial restrictions."
The returning Wiseman added: "There were no hard feelings when I got released because I knew the reasoning behind it.
"At this level you can't really afford to pay two right-backs half-decent money. Now that I am back it is absolutely brilliant."
