Captain Jones signs new Dale deal

Rochdale captain Gary Jones has signed a new two-year contract, keeping him at the League Two club until 2011.

"I believe there is unfinished business here at Spotland," he told the club's official website.

"I only have one aim now and that is to see us promoted," added the midfielder, who turns 32 on 6 June.

Manager Keith Hill said: "He is the most important signing of the summer. Gary had the opportunity to go to other clubs but he decided to stay with us."
