Eight to leave Rochdale

Rochdale boss Steve Parkin has released eight players following a season of struggle at Spotland.

Neil Redfearn is leaving along with Shaun Smith, Chris Beech, Matt Doughty, Stephen Hill, Sean McClare, Simon Grand and Lee McEvilly.

But New Zealand international Leo Bertos has been given a new deal.

And there will also be contract offers for the long-serving pair of goalkeeper Neil Edwards and defender Wayne Evans as well as Scott Warner.
