Rochdale appoint Hollins
John Hollins is taking on the Spotland hot-seat
Rochdale have appointed former Chelsea, QPR and Arsenal star John Hollins as their new manager.
Hollins was sacked by Swansea City in September. He will take over at Spotland from caretaker David Hamilton, who will become first team coach, with Jamie Hoyland reverting to youth team coach. Rochdale have offered Hollins a contract until the end of the season. He was introduced to his players at training on Tuesday. His appointment comes one month after Steve Parkin left the club for Barnsley. Hollins has targetted promotion to Division Two as his priority. He said: "We are all part of a team. We have an excellent set-up at the club, and we aim to be in the Second Division next season. "I have been to Rochdale on several occasions and I have always found them a difficult team to play against. "I have always been impressed with the set-up - both on the field and off it - and I must say how glad I am to be here."
