Blackburn's Zurab Khizanishvili ponders Reading future

Khizanishvili was on a season-long loan at Reading from Blackburn.

On-loan Reading defender Zurab Khizanishvili is likely to decide his future next month after the club failed to get promoted to the Premier League.

The 29-year-old Georgian defender is out of contract at Blackburn Rovers this summer.

Khizanishvili told BBC Radio Berkshire: "I still don't know my future but I'll maybe decide next month.

"I will wish all the best for this club because it is the perfect club. I am proud to spend time with these guys."

Capped 65 times by his country, national team captain Khizanishvili will join up with Georgia ahead of their Euro 2012 qualifier with Croatia on Friday.

"I'm going home for national team (duties) and we have Croatia away so it's another big game I have to play next week. So I just need to clean up myself tomorrow and over the next few days."

Khizanishvili also admitted Reading's dismal first-half play-off display against Swansea had destroyed any chance of gaining Premier League status.

Reading trailed Swansea 3-0 at half-time after goals from Scott Sinclair and Stephen Dobbie.

We came out in the second-half, we did really well and we put Swansea under pressure but unfortunately the penalty killed the game

Noel Hunt and Matt Mills gave Khizanishvili's side a lifeline, but Sinclair converted his second penalty of the afternoon to secure promotion for Brendan Rodgers' side.

"It was 3-0 after the first-half and it's too much for 45 minutes," he continued.

"But we came out in the second-half, we did really well and we put Swansea under pressure but unfortunately the penalty killed the game.

"Every game you lose is like killing me because it is your life and it doesn't matter how experienced you are, every game you lose is really bad."
