Lita hits four on tour for Royals

Leroy Lita scored all four goals as Reading began their three-match tour of Sweden with a 4-1 win at Trollhattan.

The first half was goalless but Lita struck twice shortly after the break, completing his hat-trick on 78 minutes and adding the fourth in injury time.

Lita, 23, scored only twice for Reading in 18 games in the 2007/08 campaign.

And Royals boss Steve Coppell told BBC Radio Berkshire: "Leroy was dissatisfied for a lot of last season and he has got a point to prove."

Coppell is eager for all of his other frontmen to pull their weight once the Championship season begins on 9 August.

"All the forwards are important," Coppell added. "I've said all along that in this division it's so important that your two strikers get you 40 goals. I don't want to put that sort of responsibility on them at this stage, but it's a reality in this division.

This summer has been about players leaving - it's great to see a player coming here and more importantly, wanting to come here.

Steve Coppell on Noel Hunt

"There's been an awful lot of speculation recently about players who want to leave.

"So I want players to demonstrate to me, either verbally or through their performances, that they want to stay and want to be successful for Reading Football Club."

New striker signing Noel Hunt, brother of Royals midfielder Stephen, watched the match from the stands, having joined from Dundee United earlier in the week.

Coppell said he was pleased finally to have signed Hunt, after having two offers rejected.

"I've known about him for many years - when Stephen was with me at Crystal Palace he used to talk about his younger brother as being a prospect - so when he became available it seemed an opportune moment to do something about it.

"Every signing you make is a gamble and you want to try to get the odds in your favour as much as possible. If we get the same out of Noel as we have out of Stephen, then we've got a real bargain.

"This summer has been about players leaving - it's great to see a player coming here and more importantly, wanting to come here.

"We haven't heard that kind of talk for quite a long time now and it shows the other players that we have intent."
