Reading slide makes Murty 'sick'

Reading skipper Graeme Murty has said he feels "sick" to see the club in the Premier League's bottom three after Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Everton.

Reading have dropped into the relegation zone for the first time since their promotion in 2006.

"Looking at the table is not nice. It actually makes you sick to look at it and realise we're in this situation," Murty told BBC Radio Berkshire.

"But we have to be positive, we have to look at the games we've got," he added.

With no FA Cup match this weekend, Reading's next game is at home to Aston Villa on Sunday 24 February.

"Every single one of the players wants to play on Tuesday," said Murty.

"We want to take our frustrations out on Aston Villa. That said, we now have two good weeks to build up for it.

"As we've always said, we have to look at the next game and try and win that one, that's all we can do. If we take the mentality that we had in the game against Everton into other games, then I think we'll do well."
