Reading complete Shorey deal
Muzzy Izzet
Izzet's brother is one of four players on trial at the Royals
Reading have completed the signing of Leyton Orient defender Nicky Shorey.

The 19-year-old has signed for an initial fee of 25,000, which could rise depending on appearances.

Shorey has signed a three-and-a-half year deal after spending a week on trial with the Royals.

The teenager has already make 16 appearances for the Orient first team, nine of which have been this season.

He played in the Reserves victory over Bristol City in midweek but was unavailable for selection for the trip to Brentford.

"I was a bit surprised, because I haven't played too many games this year," he told Reading's opfficial website.

"I have been in and out of the side but Reading have obviously seen something in me, so hopefully I can prove them right and help take the club forwards."

Kemal Izzet, the brother of Leicester City's Muzzy, also turned in an impressive performance for Reading in the game against City.

He was one of three other players on trial at the club.

Midfielder Izzet joined the Royals from Charlton and, along with fellow trialists Shorey, Anthony Allman and Craig Etherington, helped Reading to a 2-0 victory against Bristol City.

Allman is a fellow Charlton team-mate of Izzet while Shorey and Etherington arrived from Leyton Orient and West Ham respectively.

Izzet and full-back Allman, both 20, have not played for the Addicks fiirst team.

Etherington has yet to play for the Hammers but has had loan spells at Halifax and Plymouth.
