Rangers manager Walter Smith hopes to hear "shortly" whether striker Kris Boyd will sign a new contract.
Boyd's agent discussed a new deal with chief executive Martin Bain earlier this month, with Smith keen to retain the SPL's all-time top goalscorer.
But Boyd, who had hernia surgery on Tuesday, has yet to respond, with Middlesbrough, Birmingham City and Wigan all linked with the striker.
The 26-year-old's current deal with the SPL leaders expires in the summer.
"With Kris being in hospital for a couple of days during the week, any decision has been put back a little bit," Smith said on Friday.
"Today was his first day back in with us so I would hope we would hear from him shortly."
Rangers have contracts on the table for Kirk Broadfoot and Nacho Novo, as well as Boyd, and Smith dismissed suggestions Lloyds Bank may yet scupper the deals, even if the players accept the terms on offer. "The situation is that we have a budget that we have to stay within," he added.
It's not quite as black and white as saying if Kris Boyd, or anyone else, accepts a contract, that we have to go and get that ratified and they (Lloyds Bank) can turn it down

"It's a complicated aspect at the present moment and it's not quite as black and white as saying if Kris Boyd, or anyone else, accepts a contract, that we have to go and get that ratified and they (Lloyds Bank) can turn it down.
"The offers have been made with a view to re-signing players. We have the capability of doing that.
"We have to go through procedures now that we didn't normally have to go through before but that does not necessarily mean that we will not be able to re-sign the players."
At the club's recent annual general meeting, Martin Bain said the agreement reached with the bank allowed them certain financial leeway, provided the overall debt was reduced by £1m a year.
Smith and Boyd have been named the Clydesdale Bank Premier League manager and player of the month for December, respectively.
