Fleck returns for Gers after spat

Rangers striker John Fleck
Fleck missed out on the weekend's Emirates Cup matches

Rangers manager Walter Smith says striker John Fleck has returned to the first-team squad after being dropped.

The 17-year-old missed last weekend's Emirates Cup after swearing at assistant boss Ally McCoist as they argued during a five-a-sides game.

Smith insisted the teenager was dropped for a different reason and said he was available for Wednesday's friendly against Manchester City at Ibrox.

"John is back with us and he will be involved," Smith told the club website.

Fleck made his first-team debut as a 16-year-old in a Scottish Cup tie against East Stirlingshire in January 2008.

Since then he has gone on to make just 13 appearances for Rangers, six from the substitutes' bench, and he has become frustrated at not yet having become a regular.

Fleck also earned his first Scotland Under-21 cap in March this year in the 1-0 victory away against Albania.
