The Glasgow outfit played a total of 68 matches last season due to an extended run in Europe as well as success in the League and Scottish Cup tournaments.
And Rangers will start their season before most other SPL clubs when they enter Europe's premier club tournament at the second qualifying round stage.
"A longer break would have been nice, but these things happen," added Broadfoot.
"We had a hard season last year, but that's in the past."
