DaMarcus Beasley is confident that he can make the right impression at Rangers after making a winning pre-season debut in Germany.
Beasley is eager to make an impression on Rangers' German trip
The USA winger, signed by boss Walter Smith for £700,000 from PSV Eindhoven, said: "The team has lots of quality and it's fun to play with them.
"Hopefully as the days and weeks and months go by we will get better."
Beasley - one of eight new recruits - featured in the 3-0 friendly win over German minnows FC Gutersloh 2000.
"At the moment maybe everyone is a bit unorganised, but it's pre-season so it will be fine," added the 25-year-old.
And, after helping the United States win the Gold Cup last month, he is keen to be involved in the Light Blues warm-up game against Hannover on 17 July, with his fellow international, Steven Cherundolo, expected to be in the opposition line-up.
"I will probably call Steven Cherundolo today and see how he is doing," explained Beasley, who has played in two World Cups for his country.
"I am familiar with the stadium in Hannover and definitely familiar with Steven.
"As he plays on the right side and I on the left we will probably meet, so this will be fun. I wish him all the best."
Competition will be big, on the other hand, some players will leave as well
Smith is expected to field a completely different line-up against SV Lippstadt prior to the Hannover game, as he seeks the right formula ahead of the Champions League qualifier against Zeta or FBK Kaunas on 31 July.
Meanwhile, winger Libor Sionko says he is prepared to stay and fight for a starting berth at Ibrox.
"I want to fight for a place in the starting line-up - the pre-season is at its start and nobody is thinking about what comes in the future, the atmosphere is alright," he told Czech newspaper Pravo.
"So far I have been with the team at the training centre in Glasgow and we have been improving fitness.
"During the summer, seven new players have come in and others will arrive.
"Competition will be big, on the other hand, some players will leave as well."
