Rangers' head of youth development, George Adams, has paid tribute to young midfielder Kevin McCrae, who died in a river accident on Wednesday night.
The 15-year-old, who was just starting his second season with the Scottish champions, drowned while swimming in the River Tay near his home in Perth.
Adams said: "We are deeply saddened to hear of this tragic accident.
"Kevin had been with us for a while, was an extremely talented player and had a great future ahead of him."
It is the second tragedy of the summer to affect the Ibrox club after 16-year-old midfielder Craig Denvir was killed in a car accident last month.
Falkirk player Craig Gowans, 17, also died after being electrocuted at the Little Kerse sports ground in Grangemouth this month after equipment he was carrying came into contact with power lines.
