Rangers manager Alex McLeish has confirmed that defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos is now contracted to the club until the summer of 2008.
Kyrgiakos has formed a good partnership with Marvin Andrews
The Greek's original contract had been performance related because of a previous serious knee injury that kept him out for a lengthy period.
But McLeish has seen enough to convince him of Kyrgiakos' worth.
"He's happy here and I see no reason why he won't be here for the next three-and-a-half years," said McLeish.
The Rangers boss has been delighted by the impact the Greek international has made since signing from Panthinaikos.
"He had the credentials when he came, but he's quickly endeared himself to the Rangers fans," added McLeish.
"Hitting the ground running is important when you come to Rangers, although you see it takes some players time to settle, but the big man's been fantastic."
