Rangers have paid a reported £200,000 for teenage striker Bajram Fetai from Danish club B93 Copenhagen.
Alex McLeish sees the Dane as a long-term investment
The Macedonian-born 18-year-old won a move after spending a successful trial at Ibrox during January.
Rangers director Martin Bain said: "There was considerable interest for Bajram from a number of European sides, including a Premiership club."
Manager Alex McLeish added: "He is one for the future and I'm excited about what he will eventually bring to us."
Fetai, who has scored 12 goals in only 25 appearances for B93, has signed at Ibrox until 2006.
He is a regular with Denmark's Under-19 side and scored last week in a 3-3 draw with Portugal in Lisbon.
"He is a very promising young player and we felt he was ahead of players we have here of the same age," said McLeish.
Rangers have been criticised for their recent signings being over 30 years of age.
