Striker Sean O'Connor has re-signed for Queen of the South 11 months after retiring from football because of a serious knee injury.

The 28-year-old had turned out as a trialist in two games for Annan Athletic, scoring once.

He then returned to Palmerston, making two substitute appearances on a similar trial basis.

O'Connor, who first signed for Queens in 2002, has agreed a deal that runs until the end of the season.

The Dumfries side trail First Division leaders Dundee by 10 points, having played two games less.

O'Connor left Queens for two seasons at Morecambe before making a return in 2006.
