Chisholm blames slump on injuries

Gordon Chisholm
Chisholm thinks standards have slipped at Palmerston

Queen of the South manager Gordon Chisholm believes injuries and suspensions are the reasons behind the club's recent poor run of form.

The Doonhamers are fourth in Division One and last week slumped to their fifth consecutive defeat when they went down 2-0 away to Dundee.

"The players are as disappointed as anyone. We were undefeated at home for nearly a year," said Chisholm.

"We hope to start another run on Saturday and get back in the mix."

The Doonhamers host Clyde at Palmerston on Saturday and will be aiming to put pressure on Livingston and Dunfermline above them in the league.

Chisholm also said he will take steps to strengthen his side in the January transfer window.

"I'll sit down with the chairman and look at the squad," he said.

"Craig Sives and Jamie Adams have to leave so that's places we need to fill, if we can add extra, we'll wait and see."
