Queen of the South manager Gordon Chisholm has bolstered his squad after completing two new signings.

Chisholm, who has extended his contract until 2010, has signed 22-year-olds David Weatherston and Tom Parratt.

Winger Weatherston has signed a two-year deal from St Johnstone, while defender Parratt moves from Hamilton after agreeing a one-year contract.

Chisholm took over the reins at Queens in May 2007 and steered them to last season's Scottish Cup final.

Parratt joined Hamilton from Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2007 and has been capped at Under-19 level for Scotland.

"We welcome both players to the club and wish them all the best in the blue of Queen of the South," the club said.

Weatherston and Parratt will be hoping to make their debuts in Saturday's home league game against Dundee.

On Tuesday, Chisholm paid tribute to his players after they were knocked out of the Uefa Cup 4-2 on aggregate by Danish side Nordsjaelland.

The Scottish First Division outfit were unable to overturn a 2-1 first leg deficit against the Danes.
