QPR swoop for Chelsea goalkeeper

Queens Park Rangers have signed teenage Chelsea goalkeeper Rhys Taylor on loan until 4 January.

The 19-year-old, whose contract at Stamford Bridge runs until the summer of 2012, will provide cover for first choice Radek Cerny.

He is a Wales Under-21 international and won his first cap at the age of 17.

Meanwhile, 36-year-old winger Gareth Ainsworth has joined Wycombe on a month's loan, teaming up again with former Hoops boss Gary Waddock.

Ainsworth has made 152 appearances for Rangers since signing in the summer of 2003 and has also had two spells as caretaker manager.

But he has featured just twice this season and will now bid to help Waddock lift the Chairboys off the bottom of League One.

Goalkeeper Taylor has been a regular in Chelsea's reserves but is yet to make a first team appearance for the Blues.

Rangers boss Jim Magilton told the club website: "Rhys comes highly recommended and we're delighted to have him on board.

"We've spoken to all the staff at Chelsea and they rate the boy very highly.

"It gives us the opportunity to work with a very good young goalkeeper and it gives Rhys the chance to work with a top-class goalkeeper in Radek.

"I've no doubt he'll push Radek all the way and that competition is running throughout the squad, so I couldn't be happier."
