Murphy signs new deal

QPR's young left-back Danny Murphy has signed a new one-year contract with the Loftus Road club.

The 19-year-old put pen to paper only three days after top scorer Andy Thomson agreed terms, to complete an excellent week for manager Ian Holloway.

Murphy made his first-team debut in December 2001 at Chesterfield and played 12 times in total, impressing with a series of lively displays.

The youngster admitted he was "delighted" to have secured a new deal.
