QPR takeover in doubt
The proposed takeover of QPR by a consortium fronted by Brian Melzack is on the brink of collapse.
Melzack's group have failed to agree a price with owner Chris Wright and the takeover, which was expected to be completed this week, is now in serious doubt. The consortium have been trying to buy Rangers since the club were taken into administration in April. There are fears that Rangers' Loftus Road ground will be sold to keep the club alive if the Melzack deal does not go through.
