Preston striker Dave Hibbert faces four to six weeks on the sidelines after discovering a persistent ankle injury is ruptured ligaments.
Hibbert is on loan at Bradford until 9 April - and may have played his last game for the Yorkshire club.
The 21-year-old is back at Deepdale for a full assessment of the injury.
"It has been a pain because I started the first four games of my loan spell at Bradford but it has been niggling me," Hibbert told Preston's website.
"I thought I had better get it sorted out but the scans have shown that it is quite bad."
