Lonergan feels for Pressman
Preston keeper Andy Lonergan
Preston keeper Andy Lonergan sympathised with opposite number Kevin Pressman after his freak goal.

Pressman was dazzled by the sun and also slipped as Lonergan's long kick bounced over his head for Preston's equaliser in the draw with Leicester.

"It was a total freak and I felt sorry for Pressman because I never intended to make him look silly," he said.

"I apologised to him afterwards because after all, something like that could easily end up happening to me too."

Lonergan said he intended to send his kick to one of the flanks and turned his back on the action when he thought it was going straight to Pressman.

"I didn't even see it go in," he admitted.

"No doubt it will be shown on television a few times so I will have a chance to see it."
