Moyes regrets nightclub fracas
David Moyes' side last both games on tour

Preston boss David Moyes attempted to draw a veil over a reported unseemly bust-up with two of his players on the club's recent pre-season tour.

Moyes is alleged to have been involved in what has been described as "a bar-room brawl" with midfielder Paul McKenna and goalkeeper Tepi Moilanen.

Moyes is understood to have been unhappy after defeats on successive nights to German Third Division side SV Wacker Berguhausen and Turkish First Division club Kocaelispor.

An argument is said to have taken place with McKenna in a nightclub before a punch-up ensued, and then when Moilanen attempted to intervene, Moyes scuffled with the Finn.

But Moyes, regarded as one of the brightest managerial prospects in Britain today, is now keen to forget the events which took place during the tour of Austria.

In a statement on the club's website, www.pnefc.net, Moyes said: "The incident which occurred at the end of the club's pre-season tour, although regrettable, has now been dealt with internally.

"The incident has received far more media attention than was merited."
