Portsmouth have extended the loan of Swansea winger David Cotterill until the end of the season.

Cotterill, 23, has scored one goal in seven appearances since joining the Championship side on loan in February.

Pompey boss Steve Cotterill told the club website: "I think he's done very well for us. I've been very pleased with him.

"I think he's been like the other boys. He's come in, mixed with them and settled in very well."

Chief executive David Lampitt added: "Everyone's been impressed with David's performances since he arrived here.

"We'd like to thank Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins and manager Brendan Rodgers for allowing him to stay with us for the rest of the season."

The Welsh international joined Swansea from Sheffield United in January 2010, scoring four goals in 23 appearances under then manager Paulo Sousa.

But since Brendan Rodgers replaced Sousa as Swansea boss last summer Cotterill has struggled to gain a first-team place, starting just 10 leagues games for the club this season.
