Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric fears the stress of working in football could eventually kill him.
The 64-year-old multi-millionaire has invested more than £25m during seven years at Pompey and he wants an investor to buy him out by 2008.
Mandaric said: "I have worked so hard and I do not know how much longer I will be alive.
"A few more games like the Wigan one and a few more sleepless nights and they might not find me the next day."
Mandaric, who is trying to build Portsmouth a new stadium, added: "I keep it inside me and I have to be the one supporting everyone and being calm.
"People do not want to see me unhappy and I do not think I will be involved in another club after Portsmouth.
"Some people ask me what there is in it for me. I have given my life to the club and I do not always get back the rewards.
"Before I leave I want to score the goal. That is the building of a new stadium and establishing Portsmouth in the Premier League. If I can do that and get us somewhere in mid-table I will have done my job.
"I imagine that will be in two or three years from now. I will be here next season and the season after that. I will have been at the club for nearly 10 years and maybe that will be the time to go."
