Mandaric hoping Berger will stay
Portsmouth midfielder Patrik Berger
Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric is confident Patrik Berger will not walk out on the club when his contract ends at the end of the season.

He told BBC Radio Solent Sport: "If you have a good player at the end of his contract, other clubs are probably looking to secure his services.

"But I believe that Patrik will still have loyalty to us.

"And if we do agree for him to stay again, then we will approach that situation a little bit later."

Steve Stone and Shaka Hislop also become free agents in the summer and Mandaric is keen to talk to them too.

He added: "We said we are going to talk to them by the end of April and we do rate them - they have helped us a lot.

"But at the same time they are out of contract and I think we will make a decision before too long."
