JORDAN'S VIEW
|
Portsmouth coach Joe Jordan said he was happy to have come away from Anfield with a point after they scored late on to earn a 1-1 draw with Liverpool.
"I'm delighted to get a point and to get it in such a way," he said. "We didn't think we were going to get anything so we are pleased at the end.
"We were limited with our depth of squad and had to defend - we haven't the strength in depth as Liverpool.
"We had to go with the same squad and had to do quite a lot of defending."
Jordan again distanced himself from a permanent role in charge of the Pompey first team.
"I'm quite happy to continue in this capacity," he added.
"I'm not sure what will happen when things settle down or what the structure will be, but I just hope I'll be involved somewhere. I've enjoyed it, it's a good place to be.
"I'm not actually managing, Velimir is here and the final decisions are his, but I'm here to pass things on and get the players to understand things are clear like the shape we're playing and they understand the orders."
Jordan paid tribute to Steven Gerrard's wonder strike, which had given Liverpool the lead.
He added: "Fair play to the guy it was a fabulous goal, you've just got to clap your hands and praise the lad."
