Portsmouth have denied reports that they have pulled out of a deal to sign Newcastle striker Lomana LuaLua.
LuaLua's goals helped keep Pompey in the Premiership
Chief executive Peter Storrie told Pompey's website: "The situation has not changed from the last statement we made over a week ago.
"I repeat, there is no deal between the two clubs - the simple fact is Newcastle's valuation of the player is substantially higher than ours."
LuaLua, 23, had a successful four-month loan spell at Pompey in the spring.
