Portsmouth have completed the signing of Cameroon international midfielder Valery Mezague on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old, who currently plays for French side Montpellier, has joined Pompey on a deal which gives them an option to buy at the end of the season.
"He is a really strong young midfield player who will add strength in that department," said boss Harry Redknapp.
"He'd add competition to the middle and we'd look strong when Amdy Faye and Aliou Cisse are available again."
