High-flying Portsmouth have signed Czech Republic goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek on a free transfer.
The 35-year-old former Newcastle and Sheffield Wednesday stopper has joined Harry Redknapp's side after a three-year spell with Italian outfit Brescia.
And Srnicek, who was heavily linked with a move to Wolves, is looking forward to playing in the Premiership once again.
"I was expecting to go to Wolves but then got a call from Pompey," said Srnicek.
"I know Shaka Hislop and Patrik Berger well and it was an easy decision to come to Fratton Park.
"I can remember playing at Fratton Park twice and they were very good games, one in particular for Newcastle in Division One.
"I am obviously starting out as Shaka's deputy and will take things from there," he told the club's official website.
Srnicek spent seven years at Newcastle in the 1990s and made more than 150 appearances for the Magpies.
