Faye seals Pompey deal
Amdy Faye
Faye struggled at Auxerre last season
Portsmouth have completed the signing of Senegalese international midfielder Amdy Faye from Auxerre.

The exact fee has not been disclosed but is thought to be about 1.5m.

"He's a very intelligent player and a good passer who will be a big asset for us," said Pompey manager Harry Redknapp.

"But the league we are going into is so hard that you almost need two teams to really compete."

Faye struggled to hold down a place at Auxerre last season, but the 26-year old defensive midfielder was reported to be a target for several Premiership clubs.

He was part of Senegal's World Cup squad last year and played against Arsenal during Auxerre's Champions League campaign.
