Pompey and Saints players paid tribute to Flahavan
Portsmouth and Southampton players put aside traditional rivalry when they attended the funeral on Monday of former Pompey goalkeeper Aaron Flahavon.

Both teams are to dispense with the number one jersey this season as a mark of respect to the 25-year-old, who died in a car accident.

About 400 mourners packed into St James' Church in Southampton for the funeral .

The player had been at Pompey throughout his entire 14-year career.

He was the club's longest serving player, progressing through the youth training scheme before becoming the number one goalkeeper.

Portsmouth manager Graham Rix said before the funeral: "It's really sad. I feel for his family, he was a really smashing young lad."
