Port Vale manager Micky Adams has said he is happy with the progress made by teenagers Anthony Malbon, Sam Morsy and Matthew Bell during pre-season.

Morsy and Malbon both scored for the second friendly in succession, as Vale defeated Biddulph Vics 3-1 on Sunday.

"All three have matured in the 10 days that they've been with us in terms of the training they've been doing," Adams told BBC Radio Stoke.

"They know they've got to grow up fast and they've settled in very well."

He added: "It's the early stages of their professional careers and we'll bring them on nice and slow."

Morsy, Malbon and Bell were all named as substitutes by Adams in League Two last season, although Morsy was the only player to be involved on the pitch, making one appearance from the bench.

Louis Dodds scored the other goal for Vale against Biddulph, avenging their 1-0 defeat to the same opposition in a friendly in July 2009.

On Saturday, Adams' side beat Harborough Town 3-0, and continue their pre-season schedule with an away fixture at Nantwich Town on Tuesday.
