Glover has selected four different Port Vale captains this season
Port Vale manager Dean Glover has revealed that he is still unsure who will captain the team next season.
Sam Stockley is the current club skipper, although three other players have taken the armband since Glover took charge at Vale Park in October.
Glover told BBC Radio Stoke: "At the moment, Sam is still the club captain.
"As for who will be captain next year, we'll have to see. Marc Richards, Dave Brammer and Gareth Owen have all had it and all shown they are leaders."
Previous Vale manager Lee Sinnott appointed Stockley as the club captain following the defender's arrival from Wycombe in the summer of 2008.
But after a shaky start to the season, and Sinnott's subsequent departure in September, Stockley lost his place in the first team, and the captaincy to Richards.
Glover is convinced that whoever gets the armband on a full-time basis will do a good job for the club.
"It's nice for whoever gets the captaincy but hopefully you're getting 10 or 11 captains out there on the field," said Glover.
"We're not getting that at the moment because we've got a young side, but in time that will get better and we will have the captaincy sorted."
