Rodgers row behind me says Glover

Port Vale manager Dean Glover feels the club has to move on following the controversial exit of striker Luke Rodgers last week.

The 27-year-old left the League Two club by mutual consent last week and claimed he was frozen out after a dressing room argument with Glover.

Glover told BBC Radio Stoke: "I have seen the comments Luke made.

"Luke is Luke and what has happened has happened. Now we will just get on with things without him."

Glover feels that the hole left by Rodgers' departure could be filled by one of the club's emerging youngsters.

"We've got some good young lads coming through and given time they will be better," the Vale boss explained.

"We just have to have the patience to bring them through and it the team is doing well that process will be easier.

"If we can stabilise or results and bring our young players through alongside some old heads, then in the long run that will be better for the club."
