Davidson fails in red card appeal

Davidson received the first red card of his career against Brentford

Port Vale midfielder Ross Davidson has lost his appeal against the red card he was shown in the 3-0 defeat to Brentford on Saturday.

Davidson was dismissed in the 37th minute for a challenge on Brentford midfielder Karleigh Osborne with the match still goalless.

The 19-year-old will now serve a three-match ban.

He will miss League Two fixtures with Wycombe and Barnet and the FA Cup second-round tie with Macclesfield.
