David Howland joined the Valiants from Birmingham City in June
Port Vale midfielder David Howland admits that he is enjoying life under new manager Dean Glover.
The 22-year-old summer signing from Birmingham City told BBC Radio Stoke: "It was tough to adjust when I first came to the club.
"But we definitely play a lot more football now and I'm really enjoying it under the new manager."
Howland scored the only goal in Vale's 1-0 win at Lincoln on Saturday, their fourth in six games.
Veteran midfielder Dave Brammer, who has joined the Valiants on a one-month loan, made his first start in his second spell with the club at Sincil Bank.
And Howland reckons Brammer's experience has already had a noticeable effect on the team.
"Having Dave sat in front of the back four allows the rest of us to get forward more," he said. "I know from reputation he's a good footballer.
"Hopefully he's someone I can learn off. He should be a big asset for us."
