Brammer completes Vale loan deal

Millwall midfielder Dave Brammer has joined Port Vale on loan for a month.

The 33-year-old, who made 83 appearances for Vale between 1999 and 2001, will go straight into the squad for Saturday's game at Lincoln.

Brammer, who has not played for the Lions this season, told BBC Radio Stoke: "I'm looking forward to getting out there and playing football again.

"Hopefully something more long-term can come of this but we'll look at that when we need to."

Brammer trained with the Valiants for a week before completing the loan move and in that time manager Dean Glover said he was impressed by the former Stoke City and Crewe Alex man.

"He's been talking to the younger lads and helping them, and you can also see the quality he possesses as a footballer.

"His old head is a big plus for us and hopefully the youngsters who play alongside him will learn from that."

Brammer arrives at Vale Park with the Valiants sitting 14th in League Two, following last season's relegation to the bottom tier of league football.

"Personally, it's got to go well for me," said Brammer. "They've got to like me and I've got to like it here before we can sort anything else out.

"But you always have your eye on long-term goals and one of those would be to get this club into the play-offs."
