Injured duo Micky Cummins and Chris Birchall face a fight to get back into the Port Vale team after the emergence of striker Michael Husbands.
The former Aston Villa striker played on the right of midfield and scored at the weekend.
Manager Martin Foyle said he is not keen for Birchall and Cummins to rush back, even if they want to.
"They're a long way away from being fit, they're out of the equation at the moment," Foyle told BBC Stoke.
