Port Vale snap up Smith
Jeff Smith
Smith made just one Premiership start for Bolton
Port Vale have signed winger Jeff Smith from Bolton after the 23-year-old agreed a 12-month deal at Vale Park.

Smith struggled to break into the first team at the Reebok Stadium but Vale assistant Dean Glover says it is a terific coup for the club.

"Jeff is a player with Premiership qualities who has been on the fringe of the first team at Bolton," said Glover.

"He has now agreed to join us and we are delighted to have got a player like Jeff," he told the club's website.

Smith joined Bolton from Bishop Auckland four years ago and has spent time on loan with Macclesfield, Scunthorpe, Rochdale and Preston.
