Vale sign young keeper
Port Vale have signed former Newcastle goalkeeper Jonathan Brain.

Vale boss Brian Horton has added the 20-year-old to his squad as extra cover in the absence of the injured Mark Goodlad.

"Weżve got two games coming up over the weekend and if Dean Delaney gets a knock we could be in trouble up at Hartlepool on Monday," Horton told the club's website.

He added: "Johnny has had some experience of league football and he has impressed me this week in training."

Brain was released by Newcastle this summer without making a senior appearance, but has also spent time at Carlisle United.
