Pitch company patient on Plymouth Argyle payment

Plymouth had their new pitch installed last summer

The company that laid Plymouth Argyle's new pitch will not rush into legal action to get the money they are owed, BBC Spotlight understands.

The cash-strapped club still owe Inscapes £350,000 of the £500,000 pitch they laid at Home Park last summer.

Plymouth survived a winding-up petition from HM Revenue & Customs on Wednesday having cleared tax debts of £760,000.

Inscapes said that legal action may not help recover what they are owed as it could put the club out of business.

However, the company confirmed it has been kept in touch with the financial developments at Argyle and that payments are due to resume.

Cash-flow remains a major concern at the League One club, with the players still awaiting their January wages and their next tax bill due on 22 February.

Peter Ridsdale, who has been working as an advisor to Plymouth's board since December last year, has previously told BBC Spotlight that £2 million is needed to ensure the club survives until the end of the season.
