Phillips: ready for first team football
Portsmouth winger Martin Phillips is closing in on a 25,000 move to Plymouth after an impressive display in a pre-season friendly at Home Park.

He came to the club two years ago for 150,000 from Manchester City but has not been able to get into the first team.

Phillips said: "The clubs have agreed a fee and now I am talking to Plymouth.

Despite being tauted for his potential, Phillips has never been able to command a regular first team place, starting only two matches in his Fratton career.

"I know I am not going to play at Portsmouth so it is just a case of making sure it is the right move for me," added Phillips.
