McCarthy the stopper
Kevin Hodges
Hodges is considering playing McCarthy at centre-back
Centre forward Sean McCarthy is set for a career change at Plymouth Argyle.

He is set to play as a defender after impressing boss Kevin Hodges with his performances in pre-season friendlies.

Hodges has admitted he is seriously considering McCarthy as a centre-back for the opening game of the season against Leyton Orient.

The 32-year-old will continue in the Pilgrims' defence when their pre-season build-up continues with a friendly against Premiership new boys Charlton Athletic.
