Sturrock's side started the season by drawing 2-2 with Wolves
Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock branded his team's Carling Cup defeat to the Football League's bottom club Luton Town as "unacceptable".
Argyle lost 2-0 at Kenilworth Road to bow out of the competition in the first round, leaving Sturrock fuming.
"Some of these fans will be going away disgusted. I'm disgusted with some of the players and they will pay a penalty for that," he told BBC Radio Devon.
Argyle are away to Reading on Saturday in their second Championship fixture.
