The 19-year-old has been on trial with the club for weeks
Plymouth Argyle have succeeded in securing the 19-year-old winger Yala Bolasie from Maltese club Floriana.
Manager Paul Sturrock fought off interest from Austrian side Sturm Graz and Germany's Hoffenheim to secure the Pilgrims' newest signing.
Sturrock told the club's website: "Bolasie has been signed for one reason, he has out-and-out potential".
Bolasie, who is English but with French parents, has been on trial with the club for the last few weeks.
The former Rushden & Diamonds youth player, who is known by his team-mates as La-la or Yannick, has been signed for what Argyle say is a "nominal fee".
