Steven MacLean has sealed a club record £500,000 move to Plymouth Argyle after Cardiff accepted a bid for the striker.
MacLean has managed just one goal for Cardiff this season
The 25-year-old Scotsman, who signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Pilgrims, played under manager Paul Sturrock while at Sheffield Wednesday.
He joined Cardiff from the Owls on a free transfer in June, but lost his place due to an ankle injury.
Since his return to fitness, he failed to score in 13 games and has become surplus to requirements.
