Holloway insists clubs, not players, should have power over contracts

Plymouth boss Ian Holloway has hit out at the Bosman ruling after being forced to drop Tony Capaldi from his team as the midfielder considers his future.
Capaldi, 25, is out of contract in the summer and, having so far failed to agree terms on a new deal, Holloway dropped him from the 2-1 win at Luton.
And Holloway said: "I think the Bosman thing is a pile of donkey dung.
"Fifa should scrap it and get back to fees. They don't realise that players are risking their livelihoods."
Luton also left out Markus Heikkinen as the Finn considers whether to leave the club in the summer, prompting Holloway to insist that clubs, and not players, should have the power over contracts.

If enough people talk about it something could happen

"If one of the players went out and broke their leg with their contract out in the summer, they would be out of a job.
"It's not a case of them having the freedom of Europe, it's a case of them risking their careers. They should give the clubs power and not the agents and the players.
"If enough people talk about it something could happen - even a single-celled amoeba could understand it."
