Mark O'Connor has again linked up with Tony Pulis after joining the coaching staff at Plymouth Argyle.
The 42-year-old was in charge of Portsmouth's under-18 side but has left to move to Home Park where he will work with the first-team and youth squads.
Pulis and O'Connor played together at Bournemouth when the Cherries won the old Third Division title in 1987 and worked together at Pompey in 2000.
"I've worked with Mark before and have great respect for him," Pulis said.
"Mark and David Kemp will work with all the professionals, and with the younger players so we have got a connection between every area of the club."
